I think its safe to say that the line is the joint. as far as i know a&h didn't do the fake plate line stuff. this is just my current understanding, which is always subject to change. nice anvil either way.

yeh c-1, it would take a lot off heat... like a shop fire. if you ask one of the x-firemen on the forum i'm sure they will tell you that a burning building give of plenty of heat.

as far as looks go, you did a pretty good job for a second knife. if i'm seeing it right it looks like your bevel is only 3/8 in. or so wide, which is pretty narrow ....
how did you heat treat it?

hamon? u gotta remember i live in tennessee and we don't use those fancy terms here. you'll have to bring your kinda talk down to my level. i've not used w2 so i can't give u much there. dropin it shouldn't mess it up though as long as it didn't crack.
