  1. Thank you Aus. I really like live edge myself as does the bride. I have a 5' bench in the que with live edge on the seat portion as well as the back. I'll be forging all the iron work for that one when the time comes.
  2. With Xmas closing in I've had to really burn the midnight oil to get some projects done. I just finished up this last minute rush order "Man Cave Lamp table" for a customer as a gift to her business partner for his lakeside cabin in New Hampshire. I made it from reclaimed 1/2" rebar welded up to a 1/2" square rod base frame with forged tabs for mounting the top. The top itself is a 2-1/2 thick "live edge" winter cut slab of red maple which happened to come from New Hampshire that has air dried for two years. I created a scroll inlay with the guys credo on it then did an epoxy pour glass coat finish. It stands 32" tail. Only issue is my bride wants one now lol. Yep more functional art Frosty!
  3. This has been been heat treated LAC. It works just fine, just like any I've used, I just expanded on the shape, it's longer then others I have.
  4. That is true Aus...mind you I wasn't complaining at all. Heck at this rate I would need to go do any type of show to unload this stuff lol!
  5. Ha, patience is my downfall to, like you I just want to get it done and move on to the next. I literally have to remind myself to slow down, step back and think a little lol.....
  6. Aus the cap nuts worked out perfectly and you correct, the rooks (castles) are brake adjusters. Infact everything except the cap nuts are car parts. As for cleaning, I just used my parts washer I built and a wire brush. These pieces were all painted. The board does work but alas, the wife found the pieces that go with it so I have to come up with another board now lol!
  7. Yea a good game plan is always helpful.....oh no I need a game plan lol!
  8. Yes it's been way to long and this list of projects keeps growing. I have two that need to be done by Xmas so I had little choice, one is the wife's lol!
  9. This is a very cool piece, how many shoes did it take for this? I had a few ideas using shoes but alas it isn't easy to turn up shoes around here
  10. Thanks guys, I'd probably go with wood. I have some nice ebony wood that I can use and the skill set to do it. I don't have the right tools for metal so that's out but that would be really cool.
  11. That is simply beautiful my friend, you do some incredible work. I really like the use of the washers and overlaying them as you work around the piece instead of just butt welding each washer to the next. I provides a great depth to the work.
  12. Very cool Aus, talk about patients! How heavy is it?
  13. I don't know if this is is really a project. It's more of a test piece as I fired up my new forge for the first time and was really just feeling it out and looking for the hot spot(s). this is just a simple striker for a flint and steel fire starter set that I mashed out of some round steel rod I had kicking around in the scrap pile.
  14. That's funny Thomas, heck I had to build an addition to my dogs house for guest. Ecaise I spend so much time there lmao!
  15. Here you go Frosty, just the rear burner running for about 4 minutes.
  16. I just wanted to give a shout out to Frosty about his 3/4" T Burner. A few months ago I desides to make the switch from coal to gas so I built my first gas forge and adopted the T burner as the heat source. I built two 3/4" burner following Frostys directions and yes it took me longer to ready the directions than it did to build the burners. Well today I finally got around to giving the new forge a go. I gotta say this thing is a beast and these burners are simply awesome. I didn't even have to do any tinkering around to dial them in as they where spot on for my forge size, design and flame pattern. So thank you Mr Frosty for your efforts and sharing your designs.
  17. That makes good sense to me Thomas....1" reduced is nothing really and would work well.
  18. I believe it Das, these guys can go off lol....
  19. Wow who would have thought making a kid a bone crusher for his collection of bladed weapons would lead to the biggest derailed tread in history of public forums LMAO..... Frosty, if this all goes down I'm heading to Alaska to hang out with you, we can e cranky together lol! Oh and I'll bring my whole arsenal, we'll have some fun.
  20. Ok Thomas I see your point, I'll need some of that homemade insulin too....does your buddy know how to make Entresto too? Need that for the ol ticker. Charles, a 12g slug and double 00 ball definitely would do the trick or even shrapnel loaded barrels
  21. Thomas man that is a depressing way to look at it. I guess I'm in that same boat, the pace maker would eventually stop, the build in defibrillator would no longer work, I'd eventually run out of the 17 pill morning cocktail as well as the 5 in the evening...forget about transplants surgery....heck man I'm gonna just take out everything I can before I go do having a blast doing it lmao!
  22. Wow talk about a post being derailed..... Biy I'm glad I don't now or care to know anything about this Zombie fad. I do like the Mad Max concept Frosty. That sounds about right. I think I'd still rather my bone crusher over a b ball bat and certainly my 7.62 and head shots over a .223 I mean why was time with anything but a head shot period.
