  1. Above average for leaders, or for the general population? Two different things.
  2. Yeah, that's a dark door you do not want to open.
  3. I can vouch for this!
  4. If your motor is on the shelf down below, you could completely enclose the sides with furnace filters for maximum airflow. Just make sure you don't have anything flammable directly in the spark stream.

    Those are lovely, MC.
  6. Did some finish work on the Bowie: And (based on something I saw in Latticino’s shop) a bolster hardy for drifting hammerheads.
  7. Another problem with mafic rocks is that if you annoy them, you could find yourself up on a charge of aggravated basalt.
  8. If you do, try to put it where your hammer hand isn’t likely to hit it. Don’t want to lose a finger.
  9. Fuzzy K, take a look at Brian Brazeal’s teaching anvil. Four good working shapes, and that’s just one edge. The great thing about a slab anvil is that you don’t have to modify it all at once. For now, grind a couple of different radii on the edges of one face, use that for a while, and then think about what other changes would be useful.
  10. I’d picked up a chunk of square grid (1/4” round on 2” centers) and realized it would make a nice rack for the hardy tools that fit the portable hole/striking anvil. Here it is with some 1/2” rebar welded to the edge for reinforcement: Also welded some 1/2” round and some bits of I-beam to the base plate of the top: These act as brackets to hold a chunk of RR track on its side: To use the curves of the sides as swages and the edges as fullers: Next up is to finish replacing the stems on some of those tools (the ones I made before changing the hole from 1-3/4” to 1-1/2”).
  11. Respirator = good. You’ve only got one set of lungs.

  13. Turn that chunk of steel on edge, and it’ll work even better.

  15. An interesting resource on this is "Rethinking Narcissism" by Dr. Craig Malkin, who posits (among other things, and this is drastically oversimplified) that what we call Narcissism is simply one unhealthy end of a spectrum of how much we think of ourselves to be "special" or to have "worth" (the other unhealthy end being thinking oneself to be utterly worthless). Here's a good quote: source

    Leg vice help

Even simpler fix: get (or make) a couple of pieces of thick-walled angle iron to act as jaw liners. So long as their combined thickness is greater than the gap, you're golden.
