  1. tried using it wilth my small compressor 25 gallon craftsman professional...don't think thats going to "cut it" lol so I went out and got a pro 4000 60 gallon...only $200 so going to try it out this week maybe making a power hammer
  2. Yes T handle... Air gas wanted $65 to "service" it..meaning they send it out...to many liability reasons to even humor me on info... So I guess I am off to a shop. It kills me to have to pay to have it fixed/replaced/or whatever when it "Seems" so basic of a thing...like repair this or that part... Urgh! I did take it apart to see what I could see...because nothing is shouting "Fix Me!" I went to the boards... But I already told myself I would listen to "Frosty" if he/you commented...Thank you...good points. One more extra stop tomorrow...
  3. I listed this question in welding and fab...but figured I would ask it here to since I wanted to heat something with it. Was going to show someone the color "scale" with the torch real quick didn't work out because.... Problem is the lever on this regulator doesn't open or close the oxygen flow...and I don't know why...anyone can help? Reason? I can twist completely open or closed and nothing happens to affect oxygen flow to torch...torch is completely open once tank is turned on. BOTH gauges show pressure soon as tank is opened up. merged it with the existing thread, do NOT spam the site one post about it is plenty

  5. I might be saying the obvious...but I have found contacting local farriers to help...sometimes they have anvils around and some not in use....and they make trips to places that have anvils and might have a better chance knowing someone who has one and is willing to part with one....
  6. Well I hope its a slam dunk and he takes a deal, knowing I showed up for testimonal or something...and I can go on my way...
  7. Trenton? Any markings at all? ( Im sure someone more knowledgeable will be around shortly)
  8. i called him and passed on it. I think he seen "Sucker" on my digital forehead...but I've learned to be a bit more skittish and to ask around before buying lately.... Turns out he is a welder (has his own business)...so not sure if he put that plate on himself...but he mentioned he had other anvils Peterwright and Trenton he wanted alot more for....so made me even more weary since he feels he "knows" a good anvil yet he was so optimistic in trading this one away... I sold a guy one of my post vise's today instead( $175). Cash is King anyways...
  9. so I should just stick with keeping my post vise lol ASO just killed it for me....I was thinking kinda same, but was just making sure. Always good to get fresh eyes. Thanks
  10. Well I was offered this anvil for one of my post vises...they said its around 200lbs...but I have yet to check it out...first wanted to get a idea of type of Anvil it is, quality....so here is a pic of it...I don't want to waste gas going to check it out just yet. Anyone have any ideas...they said they cant see any marks..
  11. 1" x 4" x 18" 1" x 5" x 18" 3/4" x 6" x 18" I was told it was oil hardened or something along those lines....not a direct qoute... but $$$ of what looked like what they paid, and some other scribbles where/are on the pieces...Not sure if thats what they paid or what...but prices and sizes match Metaldepot's order list...but I think these are standard cut sections for O1....but I am far from knowledgeable on this. I never worked with O1...but do a test piece....im very curious.
  12. I know 01 rusts easily. As they say you need to be careful with your knives made from it after.... Is there another way to verify? Thank you for your response
  13. first pic is mine, second is online 01 spark demo
  14. Was told it was some O1 tool steel (A guy selling his fathers shop since he passed)...but unsure. Trying to identify for certainty before use.... Going to show a spark test I just lightly touched the steel with grinder.....but hopefully it shows enough Project001.mp4 below post is a mp4 below picture
  15. Well I got a subpoena today...One of the idiots at least says he is innocent lol go figure...I found out all three have a big history. One of the defendants sent a investigator to question me. I said I would love to say what I witness...To a law enforcement officer...they didn't like that much. So I guess I will see them in court soon. I was aggravated over the subpoena until I figured one of em was calling me a liar by saying he was innocent.
  16. So that explains what is on my Soderfors....look around the base of it...grayish globs I didn't know they were painted...except by buyers... This one is 297lbs
  17. Can't wait till the freeway opens back up and it all goes away. But I noticed early morning is a good time for at least a few hours anyways...
  18. More of a venting lol Sorry. I was outside tinkering in my shop. And vehicles are flying by one after another and Im eating dust like crazy...I get 4 cars a day go by usually. I moved out here to get away from it all.... Now people are smoking me out of my shop... One car can make a cloud big enough to cover the whole area...Now im eating dust none stop.. So I see it as a day wasted unless I go all Star Wars Sand People mask and all. Now im getting 4 cars ever few seconds... and my whole property is a sand storm. And I've been itching to work today...
  19. Now I have the "Smartest" people on the planet speeding by my house as a short cut to save themselves 5 minutes.... Feel like digging a trench at the cross roads....and sit back and watch the show....but want these fine citizens gone sooner the better....
  20. Well this is my first swage block find...(buying). They usually want more for them than anvils around here...if you can find them. I usually only keep what I use the most. So will see how this one goes...I tend to keep the favorites and when someone comes around I might sell or barter something away. This is definately different from the ones I usually see. So I had to ask you all about it. I know what you mean. I do see some that look like swiss cheese meets old samity sam
  21. He was asking 300. But got it for 180.... I like the apprentice went to lunch theory lol Well maybe if I keep it. I can always add a pattern if I need it. And if anything I made another connection for anvils etc...
  22. Weighs 152 lbs Anyone have any history or idea of info on swage block guy had it for sale, picked up it today....
