  1. Hi All I rang Moony on Saturday (Aus time) to have a chat, he was on his way to St Vincents Hospital Sydney for surgery to have his waterworks plumbing cleared of clinker. He seemed to be ok otherwise. If anyone is in Sydney you may want to look him up. Don't know how long he'll be there, may already be home. Keep him in your thoughts. Too nice of a bloke to have go to the smithy in the sky just yet. Cheers Phil
  2. Dale Nice to see you again so soon. The arm is healing well, just hope moonie has calmed down after that little blip in my forging diary. I understand Damo has registered also on IFI. Been set on being a smith for 33 years now after a school excursion to Old Sydney Town in primary school. Actually been a time served card carrying metalbasher for 28 years now. Long live Aus
  3. Hi All I thought being blacksmiths you would have made your own reducers from 2" pipe. Cut a piece of pipe long enough to handle, heat it up and swage the end down to the smaller dia you want to use, you may have to use a few sizes of swages to get it down without crimping the end. If you do end up getting a crimp just drift it out to remove the crimp and then start swagin again. Once I figure out how to post pickys on here I will post some showing the end result and if anyone wants a step by step photo. Swaging them down leaves a nice smooth radius inside, no weld joints, and if they burn out in a years time you can just make some more. Simple.
