should I purchase to make a knife by stock removal. I live in a small town and the olny place to buy metal is a welding shop.Which I believe sells only carbon steel, maybe some stainless steel. Thanks, TC

If a person will be making knives by stock removal, is it possible to do all of the heating, hardening, tempering first. If this is true where can I purchase metal already treated. Thanks TC
