  3. Gorgeous work, i find it great that as an apprentice you do as good, if not better looking work than some master smiths.
  4. You can even mount a spud gun and a turret on top too!
  5. Wow, it looks like he/she is pulling a big wheely with that helicopter! Cool!

  10. Fred, that is some PEICE!!!!!!!! That would be neat for working deep things like pitchers and stuff.
  11. They are forging, well forge welding PIPE FITTINGS! Amazing casting Valentin, did you make it?
  12. Can someone elaborate a little on these specialty steels and what the deal is with them!?
  13. I would love to try and make a cable, out of some really good steel wires and stuff. Like forge out/buy some 1095 and then mix in some wrought iron cable, that would be neat I bet.
  14. Well, as funny as this might sound. If I needed to turn out scrolls like that, I would take a peice of flat plate, the starting thickness of the last biggest part of the scroll, and then forge it into a taper matching the exact taper(or dang close) to the taper in the negativespace. then you would just curl up the flat peice of tapered to match plate right inside of the scroll or freehand into another perfect scroll again, and bam, all you would have to do is taper the square or round right and insert it into the flat bar scroll.
  15. Sounds great Levi, sorry this reply is so late! Sounds like you have a great setup, I would love to see pictures of you and your shop, both the stationary and mobile setups!!!!!!!
  16. I agree cable is alot easier than a billet.
  17. I agree with Strine, spectators allways seem to identify as well with an apprentice more then with a master as they think you know as much about smithing(HORSESHOES!?) as they do. though on the little apprenticechip action, sounds like the master is a cool guy willing to teach you some cool stuff.
