  1. Daniel , I just saw some curly redwood burl that was stabilised with cactus Juice . I turned out great and looked great. Wonders never cease. iwonder if its all really cactus juice? sure did a great job..... James

  4. These Blades are changeable , It is flat on bottom and has guide to keep it straight. I have made quite a few swords using this tool I have a Japanese sen and this is way superior. I decided on inline handle because of a comfort and ability to see what you are doing . The fellow who made it Lives in England and will make custom ones . This is not an add for business . Not much pressure at all is needed . I used to wear myself out using the japanese version. James
  5. I wanted to show this new ( almost ) bo-hi cutter . It is custom made by a friend of mine . Has changeable cutter 1/4" made from carbide , You can buy cutter pieces anywhere . It works better than any japanese cutter (Sen) and you can easily change the tool cutters . It has guide that rests on Spine ( Mune) and will make fullers as straight as can be ..... What do you think ?....... James Ps you can also polish fuller with this , simply by altering shape of blade to a more rounded shape.
  6. I have a champion blower , Its in fine shape . Yes they can be unseized . You have to dissasemble and clean away all the rust . It is gear driven and very sturdy . Probably worth fixing . One in good shape goes for around 450 $ good luck James
  7. Not bragging believe me but, I have a 3,000 SF shop . Just moved in here . Has airplane hanger another 3,000 SF . Huge house really too big for me and the wife . Will see how this place works out . Its about 6 years old . Thank you james

  15. I saw that show . They referred to quenching as Tempering . I see lots of references to tempering in that context . Tempering is softening of the steel . It is a much different process . As most of you know well . It was entertaining though James
  16. Hello I am a new member here, I am a swordsmith/ Bladesmith and I just finished this one. The tsuka is Hard Missouri white oak with cherry accents To prevent tsuka from splitting. It is hand forged fro 1075 and 9260 silcon steel . Its nice and limber . Never cut anything with it . Eventually I will outfit it with Tsuba and ito wrap. I made 3 of these until I got one that did not delaminate a little . sword cutting edge is 29 " I am cutting saya for it at the present time . Thanks for looking ... James
