I take 3-4 pieces of newspaper and lay them in the opposite way then i roll it up into a circle and poke a hole in the center of the circle with my anvil's horn put that in the fire pot and put some coal on it and light the paper with a propane torch, no clue how long I have to wait usually around 15 min

I use aluminum wire now but I want to use steel just cant afford it.

I have been making chainmail lately because I can't blacksmith because ts winter and there's snow all around. so far i have been using a cupcake tin to make ingots wouldn't it be the same as that? oh and i always preheat it a bit over my forge before pouring

just wondering but y can u not use a cookie sheet? just wondering and i cant sand cast i don't have the sand or a 2 part mold

i was thinking of melting aluminum and making aluminum plates but what would i use as a mold? could i use a cookie sheet(with sides lol)or would i have to make a mold?

well this one it rusted a bit and i don't think has been used for a long time so i think its fine i use it to shovel coal into my forge now

how do you tell the difference in steel and aluminum by just looking at it? i am going to the recycling center with my grandpa tomorrow and i want to get some aluminum to use with my furnace i want to build.

thx for that site now i want some angle to make a couple molds but i don't have any now for the safety equipment that includes gloves, work boots, safety glasses(i would wear a face mask not safety glasses because i wear glasses and its uncomfortable for me the wear them), and...what else? lol

so have a rusty mold? so it wont stick?

i have been thinking about using aluminum for a bit and i was wondering how i could build a melting furnace for melting scrap aluminum. i was also wondering could u melt aluminum cans(soda cans, etc.) to make aluminum bars? We get a lot of soda cans every week, so i think we would have enough to make some small sized bars. also how much would it be to make a melting furnace for aluminum? i would like to use propane or possibly electric.

well i wanted to use it for small things but also for larger things so i gues a medium size would do for me

also how do u change the psi?

i was thinking about trying a gas forge instead of using my coal forge, i was wondering how long can a 20 gallon propane tank will go for and at what psi, and about how much i could make the BP0192 Gas Forge for?
