  2. i know rthibeau but i don't really want to bother him much because i just met him, and i don't know exactly how big the brake drum is but its off a 1 ton truck thats all i know lol, um i would say about 9-11 inches, i don't really know about how big the fire but i want something i can learn easily on
  3. i wanted to make a new coal forge since i am getting tired of my current one(brake drum forge, can't really heat a certain area of the metal with it, to small) i wanted to make one with a table type thing with a fire pot on one side with a blower(i want a crank blower but i may be on a budget) in want a hood to go over the fire pot so smoke doesn't blow everywhere(thats been a small problem lately, whenever i can use my forge the wind picks up a bit ) i also want it to be on a simple stand(4-legged, with 2 wheels on one side for moving/storing) is there anything that i can use as a plan or can someone make me one please? i am not good a plans, lol

  7. i was wondering how can i weld steel/iron together? i don't know what temp it needs to be at(i would guess white hot) and then how would i weld it together after its that temp? would i just hammer them together? :confused: if u need to know what i use for my forge its a basic brake drum forge and for coal i use anthracite chestnut sized coal.
  8. lol to bad for me but i like the anthracite coal better then the blacksmithing coal i had to get my dad to drive me 80 miles to get, lol, its cheaper to and its a larger size

  10. ok i got the info for the coal i got today: Chabott Coal And Oil New Hampshire Keene 1-603-352-0343 $8.75 for 40lb bags of chestnut or pea sized anthracite coal
  11. ok i got 200lb of chestnut sized anthracite coal for $39USD which should mean i could get a ton for $390USD, i think
  12. wow didn't know you could buy coal from aubuchun hardware and its only 8.49 for a 40lb bag, well anyways i am going somewhere to get coal and i will try to post it here later
  13. the first time i used my forge i used some old coal my grandparents used for a coal stove i think it was anthracite coal but that was my first time so i don't know if its better or not lol
