  1. I will be placing an order for machines in the very near future if anybody has any interest speak up and I'll get it coming in this batch
  2. I have decided to pick up Grants Induction Forge line and will be importing and updating the machines in the same maner Grant did... I will offer the same warrenty, 1 year parts and labor and stand behind the product. You can refer any questions to me at Larry@Monstermetal.org
  3. I am going to pick up where Grant left off with the Induction machines... In a few weeks I will be brining in the first batch of new machines and doing the same tweeks as Grant did to facilitate use as a forge... The pricing will be the same as what Grant charged... $2995 for the 15KW machine and $4500 for a high voltate 25KW and $4700 for a low voltate 25KW... I can also set up the machines and build custom coils for a fee...
  4. I dont think the guy claims the work as his own... certinly he should give credit and if it is copywrited then its theft regaurdless
  5. I have no idea what the mistake was or who the other party involved is... But I can say Ken is without a doubt a very professional and upstanding business man and blacksmith. The only thing Ken might be guilty of is trying too hard or moving too fast. Its tough when you make mistake, something slips by. But its only tough if you care about what you do, your proud of the product you make and you take personally the pledge to stand behind your product.
  6. I have thought a lot about it. Spent many nights working over plans... I just don't think it's in the cards.
  7. I would have liked to Eric but I just dont have the funds nessasary. Grant offerd to sell me OCP about 6 months ago and I very much would have liked beeing able to take him up off the offer.
  8. There seems to be a lot of interest in what’s going on with Grants estate and company so I thought I would kind of lay a few things out. I have been asked by the Sarver family to facilitate the sale of Off Center products. The Kaynes of Blacksmith Depot and I are currently in discussions and they will have the first right of refusal. Part of what is important to the family and to me is to ensure that Off Center products remains high quality & American made . I am going to do everything in my power to make sure Grants legacy continues on in a way he would be proud of. I have faith that the Kaynes are the right people for the job and hope that we can come to agreeable terms. If for some reason that is not the case I will stipulate as part of the sale that for the time being current agreements and conditions that OCP currently has with the Kaynes stay in effect and that the Kaynes have a say in who produces the product. Grant has had a long and valued relationship with Blacksmith Depot and I don’t think Grant would approve of having it any other way. The last thing I or anyone one else wants is to jeopardize OCP’s or Grants good name. Regardless of the sale of OCP all current inventory will be sold to the Kaynes in the hopes that the inventory supply will be sufficient to carry on till production can resume. I am happy to answer whatever questions I can, However I will not discuss the terms of the sale nor details until I know the intentions of the Kaynes. If for some reason we fail to come to terms I will make an announcement and start giving terms and accepting offers.
  9. Grants service was nice.. The Kaynes from Blacksmith Depot where in attendance as well as a good chunk of the NWBA... We are going to get together with Grants wife soon and discuss what will become of his shop... We will miss you my friend. .
  10. I have posted a link to the RIP Grant Sarver thread on Grants Facebook page so family can view the posts.
  11. This was posted on Facebook by Grants oldest daughter For those who do not know me, I’m Grant Sarver's oldest daughter. As many of you now know, the start to 2012 has us saying goodbye to our pop, a truly amazing man, wonderful father, loving husband and great friend to all who came across his path (especially if they knew how to fire up a forge or tell a dirty or corny joke). It is with truly heavy hearts that we ask you to join us in remembering and celebrating a life that was taken from all of us too soon. As pop would have wanted, we are celebrating his life and not mourning his death this Saturday, January 7 at 4pm at the Centerstage Theatre Arts Conservatory (Knutzen Family Theatre), 3200 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA. We will also be hosting a more informal gathering at my parents’ home sometime next week for all his blacksmith friends to laugh, cry and celebrate his spirit and life. More information on this will be forthcoming. Thank you all for the friendship, love, support and community you have shared and built with pop. Please feel free to contact me if there are any questions. Kei (keilee77@gmail.com/253-846-2038) You could also send flowers to the Sarver family at: OCP Galactic Headquarters 30411 40th Ave E Graham, WA 98338
  12. Thanks everyone... I just pulled up to post some more info for Grant and saw a few new responses... I appreciate the kind words
  13. Post 112 has the information on services etc. Sad to say my mentor and friend Grant passed last night. I will post service information as soon as I have it. Anyone wishing to send flowers I can PM you The address... I have moved this to the prayer list and combined multiple posts on the same topic
  14. I reconsidered maybe what I did say was letting to much out of the bag. Better safe than sorry.
  15. Really? I have a much nicer Chambersburg you could have for a third that price....
  16. John that is simply not acceptable, fair or just... Since there is very little hope of us state side ever owning such a fine and impressive machine I think you should just keep the videos to your self to spare us the suffering...
  17. A very sad story... Sorry to hear... A Nazel 4B got stolen here a year or so back..... The first thing I would do is find the girl and tell her you dont care about pressing charges, you just really need to get the stuff back... Give her a couple hundred bucks to take you to where she sold the stuff.... Do everything you can to get it back first.... Then tell the sheriff what happened and let them pursue criminal charges if they choose.... Best shot you have of getting the stuff back
  18. Well Thomas.... Your argument starts of "from an economics stand point" And then you contradict the laws of economics... An auction sets the value for an item that day for those in attendance for that item.. On that particular day an item might be worth more to one of the attendees than its retail value. That items value has been established purely by what a person was willing to pay... .No price was set.... So truly the retail price of the item is now lower than is the actual value... The actual value being that which someone is willing to pay. Thats pure economics.... The person buying the item sets the value, not the person selling... That is always always always the case... eBay is a great tool to set value... It has millions of people, not just a few who get to decide an items worth..... Just because you dont agree with them doesn't change the laws of economics, An item is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay, no more no less.... If someone pays it you can not argue value, its been established, it doesn't matter why they paid it, only that they did.
  19. eBay is always the best judge of an items true retail value... People dont want to admit it, they want to think only crazy people pay that kind of money for things... But the fact is there is no price set, people pay what they want. There are always flukes where something brings more or less but if you look at the average something is selling for over a period of time you can get a very good feel for what the market will bare.... Everyone has a story about how cheap they bought an anvil, how those people who pay those prices just dont know better... The truth is an average anvil will probably bring less than you could get locally on eBay.... the anvils that bring the insane money usually are in exceptional shape and are ideal for some use or very hard to come by... Big anvils demand big money, rare anvils demand big money.... If you dont understand the market it can look like the people are "crazy" that are paying the price but that's your shortcoming not theirs... I have an anvil story that is a perfect example... I found a perfect, and I mean perfect 200lb Hay Budden that was one of the very late production ones that where electrically welded at the waist... Many feel like they where the best Hay Buddens ever built and there are not many of them.. It was at a flea market and it was priced $600... I wipped out the cash and handed they guy full price... The guy next to me laughed and said your an idiot! $600 for that anvil? its been broke and welded back together! ( it is what they look like) I sold it the next day to an anvil collector for $1200... So who is the idiot?
