  1. So my cooking partner is building a coal forge. I'm building a gas forge. He bought a 165 CFM blower from someone on line. Good blower. I'm thinking of using a blower I have in my shop from a wood/pellet stove. Not sure the CFM So I'm thinking my blower is not as strong as his, but much stronger then a hair dryer some use. We will both gate them for control. any comments about this would be great. The ones we use at the blacksmith meeting has a blower for gas, I see many here don't use a blower on gas. But I do have it so I'm trying it. If I had to buy one I would skip it for sure. I'm trying to do thing for close to zero dollars and get the most bang. It a :Just Me" thing He is real good at things like this, so I know his will work. He has done a lot of research on the web. I'm sure mine will also, and this is more of my research. Thank Y'all for all your post/help

  7. I've been lookin to play with my anvil I've had for most of 30 yrs. So I read alot here and there about tools and anvils. Now I've build NASCAR mod and street stocks and had a Jag repair shop. So I'm going threw my tool box lookin to see what tricks are in the drawers. I come across my air chisel/hammer http://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-short-air-chisel-set-68277.html http://www.harborfreight.com/3x-air-riveting-hammer-with-5-piece-chisel-set-97857.html The tools that fit that tool also fit the punch hole, so I'm thinkin about using them there till I make some tools for the hardie hole. I don't have any idea of doing anything heavy work on the just playin n learnin I'm think if the shoe fits wear it. Any Pros an Cons on this one...Thanks for lookin
  8. I do bbq compitions and get 1 of them to start the cooker. I really don't like it. It doesn't heat like I would've though it should and after the 1st few events it will not start without a stricker from my cuttin torch Just plain not happy with it. I'm goin back to my roofin torch (500,000 BTUs) that works like a dream. Get them at a weldin supply for about $80 Harbor Freight has 1 with self starter for about the same $$ My cookin buddy has 1 and loves it... it's 281,000 BTU http://www.harborfreight.com/propane-torch-with-push-button-igniter-91037.html
