  1. If a person whats to try cattail tubers, you might think about what is up stream. Anything that is in the water shed above you is also in the sedament that the cattail is growing in. Be sure of your suroundings. LeeRoy
  2. Most of the old insulators was not hollow, they were like a cap. They had threads on the inside to screw onto a peg that held them onto the crossbar of the pole. LeeRoy
  3. That is a good looking set of candle holders. I will have to search out some of the insulators that I have put away, and make a couple of those, it it is o.k. with you LeeRoy

  7. This might not be the same one you are thinking about, but it has a spring to open it. LeeRoy P S Sorry, I can not get the picture to attach. It is a smithing magician that has a striker spring added between the top and bottom dies. Looks to be something that might work. It was posted by anvillain.
  8. In the way gone past, we would take a juice can and cut a slot in the top. That will make a bank out of it. Have the keds draw a picture of the event that they want to go to on it. Then they funded their own spending money. Do not leave the kids out of outings, its memories that can not be replaced. LeeRoy
  9. Over on the knive forums they use wrought iron for hardwear, guards, pomels, end caps and the like. It makes some nice looking stuff !! LeeRoy

  15. There used to be some really nice blueprints on this site, but they were omited on one of the improvements to the site. They were one of the best things about the site. The members here are some of the best in the country, and the most sharing. LeeRoy
  16. I find that things on crages list and e-bay to be over priced. I have watched for a while. Most of it is people over estimate what a item is really worth. LeeRoy
  17. I have a friend that builds small wood items, bird houses, toys and such. He rents a storage unit in a place that lets people work out of it. Check some out in you area to see if any would be willing to allow you to have a propane forge and anvil set-up. LeeRoy

  22. Jreed The forge stands 17 inchs high, the bench that it sets on is 22 inchs high. That puts it up to a good working highth for me. I think that is a bit small for blacksmithing, that it doesn't have enought surface area for some things. Thanks for the input. LeeRoy
