  6. When I was just beginning to blacksmith I used a piece of railroad RAIL as an anvil.
  7. That pirate with the eye PATCH wants a cookie too.
  8. It's a postman that delivers the mail, not a MAID
  9. Just hope a kindly WITCH doesn't find out you did such a mean thing. She'll put a spell on you. ;)
  10. Duck, I don't know if this will work, but would it be possible to slip an appropriately sized fluxed copper rod into the end of the tubing and forge braze them together? It would then be easy to shape the now solid end into a point. Just a thought, and no idea if it would even work, but it sounds worth trying. Pam
  11. I'm glad there seems to be no HALT to this word game.
  12. Jeremy, Are you talking about using the narrow scrap strips when brazing with an oxyacetylene torch? If so, do you use flux? Any special type? Pam

  19. A couple of GENTS RENTS some TENTS for a TENTH of what they were worth. (I definitely sprained my brain on that one...ouch!!) ;)
  20. Firegirl, Here is a bit more information on brazing with pure copper: flash youtube videos (look for Brazing with Copper Wire) I have some of George Goehl's video's. They are excellent. I'd recommend them to anyone interested in basic artistic metal working...especially copper. Also check out his forum section for more tips, resources, etc. I'd be interested in seeing some of your boxes. Hope that helps, Pam
  21. You want PhosCopper (or phos-copper) rods. The color match is excellent. Also if you flux a copper rod, you can braze copper to copper.
  22. Make sure you have a dry SHED to put all those garden tools away.
  23. I would think 3 burners on a freon tank forge would be over kill. Maybe try a bit larger tank, like a portable air tank. Otherwise, welding up another box seems to make the most sense. Pam
