BP1034 Forging a Rivet with a Hydraulic Press

My press is 75-80 ton which is much to big to the tusk, but this is what I have so NO complaints.

Use the same tool. Adjust the height of the head (the daylight of the press ram). With the adjusting screw and the niddle in the far background.

Heat the steel with the rosebud, and insert in the tool.

Forge with the press.

Cool in water. If you forge many rivets you have to cool down the tool every 4-5 times.Â

Punch out.
