October 20, 200718 yr I attempted at it today with an incredible failure.. and I cant find a single one for sale to compare too.. It is a cutting tool right? not a scraping tool? so it should be relativly sharp, and higher carbon/harder than normal.. so file steel would probably be good.. the only thing I have to go by is a youtube video of cheness cutlery using one.. and it looks like it has a really slight angle. but I cant see if it has a more obtuse angle at the tip of the blade because it is cutting steel.. but ya, if anyone can help me out in finding one for sale or a way to make one please... -Thanks again..
October 20, 200718 yr I don't have the links handy but there are a few tutorials floating around on bladesmithing forums if you do a search for them.
October 20, 200718 yr I got your tutorial right here;MakingSen You can find lots'o good info on Don's site.
October 20, 200718 yr Author sweet, thanks man I can do that easy.. I guess my angle was just off on mine. it should work with a slight re grinding..
October 20, 200718 yr I won a Sen in Iron-in-hat at one of the guild meeting...never knew how to use it...does it work better than draw filing?faster?
October 20, 200718 yr Author I might be into purchasing it from you if you'd be into that. It works faster than drawfiling from what Iv'e heard and seen.. but it leaves the metal somewhat rough usually.. but, im certainly not an authority on it..
October 21, 200718 yr thats pretty sick. i use a drawknife for woodworking all the time, i never woulda guessed they made a metalworking equivalent.
February 27, 20188 yr So this link seems to be consumed by adds. Is there any other sen making links or a picture?
February 27, 20188 yr The link took you off of the IForgeIron site into the world wide web. The adds you saw were the choice of THAT site. This is one reason we put disclaimers with certain links.
February 27, 20188 yr Dead link; what did you expect from 2007? Sic transit electronica. Some photos for you.

What you saw is what you see when someone has bought the domain and wants to sell/profit from it. Don't know if the sen info is, but a lot of Don Fogg's stuff is still available at www.bladesmithsforum.com,
February 28, 20188 yr Yeah I was looking on there too. I think I'm just going to shoot for a higher hardness and start at 35° and feel it out. 20 hours ago, John McPherson said: Some photos for you. Thank you so much
