He has made a few and lately has been forging rr spikes into knives, Mike knows that they do not contain enough carbon so he used layers of high carbon steel welded into the blade to make this a real knife, His skill as a smith is showcased in this work. mike-hr Posted February 19, 2013 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks. I'm teaming up with John from Gearhartiron, we're going to demo this at the upcoming hammer-in at Weaverville, CA. I'm going to do the handle and forgeweld in the bit, then John will take us thru the steps on the belt grinder to finish and etch. Should be worth a giggle if nothing else..
