Mike do a IForgeIron search for the oliver hammer. There are several hits that you can locate.

My suggestion would be to back up to the basics. Make a small damascus billet by hand. Once you understand the process, and have accomplished the technique, only then can you move on to larger pieces. Show us photos of what you have done and we can make suggestions to help you move on to the next level.



I like the reverse twist. May I suggest that you put it closer to the handle so it is both easier to see and if you ever need to reshape the end of the poker your twist will not be in the way.

You also might wish to consider constructing a roller mill if you are doing knifemaking and/or Damascus.

wow its so nice to somebody thinks my first poker ive made is good.im ganna make a smaller poker with the hole thing as just twists and a curled handle.um if u dont mind can u give me a sort off task or something after the poker project because as ive said before i dont get tought everything i wanna do.
