Cool Hand Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Metal working skipped a generation for me. My great grandfather was a blacksmith, my grandfather was a moonshiner, my father is a metal worker, I decided to pound on computers. 35 years into the game and I find myself hooked, almost by accident. I love cooking at chili festivals and was hoping to have someone help me build my own pull behind chili cooker/smoker. My family sorta kicked me down the road and said this was a good time to learn metal work. I dove into cutting and welding, scraphunting, and the like and somehow found myself fascinated with Blacksmithing. Though it is in my blood, I am a NOOB so forgive my mistakes. I look forward to learning. Cool Hand Quote
Frosty Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Welcome to our merry band Cool Hand, glad to have ya. About the only real mistake other than oh say burning down the house, etc. is waiting till you have all the "right" tools to start hammering. Check out the getting started section and the blue prints and if you don't come up with forge and anvil soon improvise something and get to hammering.
