Purple Bullet Posted January 11, 2022 Share Posted January 11, 2022 OK. Just one more thought; After looking at the close up and realizing the stake was round I see another possibility. Have your smith make rings of 25mm round bar (he would love that) open the rings to fit around the bar, then heat them with a torch and squeeze them around the stake under the finial. I would do this just above the rail. It would strengthen the stake and leave the smaller gap you desire.
