AngryOnion
I have a Reed 104 that has a bent handle but is otherwise in good shape. Are handles usually heat treated in some way or can I just heat it up, straighten it, and let it cool? Thanks guys.
Frazer
Heat it up and straighten it. You won't hurt anything.
Daswulf
I think anyone would rather have a vise handle bend rather than break. It should be just fine to heat, straighten and let air cool. I did break a post vise handle trying to straighten it. Turned out it was wrought iron, I didn't put enough heat to it and (probably the reason it bent where it did) there was a large inclusion in the metal at the bend point. The vise was from possibly the late 1700's so I doubt you have anything to worry about with yours.
