November 16, 20214 yr Never seen anything like it. It definitely has been hammered on, maybe for splitting off shakes like a froe or splitting slate tiles.
November 16, 20214 yr SLAG, Greetings: steel hammering folks. Permit me to hazard a guess. It looks like slater's tool. (yeh the gents that make roofs of slate). The long straight edge would be used for trimming slate edges. Just a guess. Try the various books/booklets authored by Sloane, and the divers Shelbourne Museum's books for possible pictures that look like your tool. Hope that helps. SLAG.
