vern six
are you talking a hammer or a fuller? well its like to pieces of steel in put your tang between and hit with your hammer while you draw it thru to make it longer
NateDJ
look at a spring fuller, a guillotine tool, or just hit it with your hammer - rotate it 1/4 turn and hit it some more then rotate it back to the original side and repeat.
irnsrgn
I think he is referring to a flatter or a taper attachment for power hammer dies or a top die for a guillotine tool. Doc Dick had the original Blue Print for one he made that he used with a power hammer, he called it a Taper Refiner, I made one for my guillotine tool. ThomasPowers
I think he's refering to a swing arm fuller; if he had a power hammer he's probably know more of the jargon.... I start the knife/tang seperation with such a fuller but I make the taper with hammer and anvil
