Andy Outdoor
Hey Team, I have this anivl and found a 13 on the feet.. not sure what that means so here looking for help. Also I believe this anivl from the marking is 114 lbs? Another thing because it doesn’t have an England wrap on it I believe it’s from 1910s? Any help is appreciated! Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Actually the CWT is 116 pounds. Sorry can't help with the # 13.
Frosty
It was the unlucky anvil in the shop? Lots of shops stamped things in their anvils for reasons unknown or only guessed at. An ID # maybe? Perhaps the station number on a production line. Smiths working at station 13 Punched the 7/16" hole and the smiths at station 14 trued up the angle of the swiddle fork. And so on That's just a guess. Nobody has a special swiddle fork station in their shop. <SHEESH> Frosty The Lucky.

Stash
Not having "England" stamped on it means it is pre- 1910 ish. More pix might help get a closer date guess. Steve
Andy Outdoor
Thanks For all the help. No more marking other than in the ones I posted. I wasn’t sure if Peter Wrights had serial numbers like a Trenton.

Steve For more pictures what angles or views would you like to see? Thank for helping with the date. Do you think this was made in England and shipped over? Stash
Definitely made in England and shipped over here. For pix I was thinking full side view and a shot of the top face. IIRC wright put on one piece faceplates starting around 1885 or so. Prior to that there were 2 or more top plate pieces. On the older anvils you can see the join between the two, which helps with the age range. The older anvils also were a bit 'chunkier', which can help with age detection. No serial numbers, so you need to look for more subtle differences.
