I frequently have to explain that “accelerating a bequest” simply means giving some or all of it during the donor’s lifetime rather than after. 

I thought it meant helping the donor move to the next plane.

So accelerating a bequest doesn't involve nicking their brake lines before inviting them up for a weekend in the mountains?  I guess that If I go to my 50th HS reunion I'll have to tell some of the folks that they were doing it wrong...HS was near the Jersey Shore...)
