You may want to browse some of the on-line knife making supply catalogs (fasteners) to see what's available from them.  Using small allen bolts or star bolts is also common.  If you are going to hammer with it having something that's easy to tighten later would be a good idea.  (Hammering with it is not a good idea.)

:lol: yeah, as im progressing with this build im starting to realize that its not going to work out as well as i had initially hoped. The steel i used is pretty soft and maleable. Except the blade, its an old table saw blade (pretty hard stuff)

I use a power file for sanding in tight places.

It is really a small belt sander less than an inch wide.

It works quickly and well.
