Justin Topp
So I was making some brackets to hold my anvil to the stand better and remembered seeing some wrought iron horse shoes online. I have a 5gallon bucket Full of them and turns out from some forging on one and a bend test it’s wrought iron. I’ve been searching for wrought iron for a while and it’s been right under my nose the whole time! I’ve had these for longer than I’ve. Searched for wrought. I made a nail from the cut off. masonred
Nice find! I've never seen a wrought iron horseshoe to know it it was.
Justin Topp
I saw it on a YouTube video somewhere and decided it can’t hurt to try. These things are old!
ThomasPowers
I've seen a couple that had been buried long enough to show the lineations on their surface.
Justin Topp
You can see a bit of the grain in some spots in a few of the shows. It’s neat stuff
