ausfire
Here are a couple of old photos from a blacksmith shop in Cunnamulla, Qld. A visitor to my forge sent them. Not sure of the resolution but here they are. I like the size of the hammer (maul?) that striker is using!
ThomasPowers
Great example of why I tell folks wanting to do "traditional smithing" that if they are the only person in the shop; they are doing it wrong! Thanks.
ausfire
I wonder where that big anvil is today. Probably got melted down for the war effort.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I remember my folks talking about that with my grandfather. They were saying a truck came by and there were hundreds of anvils on it during WWII and they gave every piece of steel they had like a complete lawn furniture set that they wished they still had and a lot of cast iron cook ware. sigh

Frosty
As painful as it is it's better than living under the 3 Reich or Emperor of Japan. Frosty The Lucky.
