Zachary Hile Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 What is the best way to get an anvil. I’ve been looking at an Olympian hobby anvil but I’m not sure if that is the right choice. What should I go with for my first anvil? Quote
Buzzkill Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Here's a couple threads to help you on your way: Quote
Daswulf Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 After reading those threads, the best advise is to go with an easier to find and afford improvised anvil to build your forging/hammering skills while you work the TPAAAT. Quote
Glenn Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Scrap metal, flea market hammers, and improvised anvils will get you started. While your at the flea market look for a heave sledge hammer head with or without a handle to use as an anvil. JABOD just a box of dirt is a good working forge. Read all you can to build a knowledge base that you can work from. TPAAAT will help you find anvils and many other tools. It may take a little time to show the first results, but then you will be getting more and more results as TPAAAT works. The IForgeIron site has the answers to many of the questions you will have. READ THIS FIRST are Table of Contents will get you started. From there find a section of the site of interest to you and read. More information is posted daily so go back and check for new information. Pack a lunch and a cold drink when you visit the site (grin) Quote
