swedefiddle Posted December 15, 2018 Share Posted December 15, 2018 If the cylinder is at the top, the hoses will not be affected by falling red hot whatever. There are lots of different ideas for making a Forging Press. There is not a simple design to cover all aspects. Your drawings are not complete. Have you figured out the stretch of all the components. Your material seems to be a little under-size. The hydraulic cylinder will want to push everything apart. bubba682 Posted December 15, 2018 Share Posted December 15, 2018 The steel is strong enough but i don't like the way your last drawing ''A'' looks ,to me its the weak link theres goin to be alot of side pressure or twist on 1/4 ''webbing I wouldn't trust it.Talk to an engineer like was said or a hydraulic mechanic they probably no more than an engineer anyway lol...
