November 22, 20178 yr It's a Beaudry motor driven hammer with integral clutch. The motor driven hammers are pretty rare and worth rebuilding if you get a hold of one. Great hammers. Looks like the twin brother to my #7 [200 lb]
November 22, 20178 yr Author What Would be a reasonable price for one of these? im stuck at work and guy wants to know what I’m willing to cough up With just a picture to judge it with any ideas?? thanks
November 22, 20178 yr I've personally seen them listed from $2K-$10K in the 200lb-300lb range depending on condition and location/situation. The #8 I bought (250lb) was close to my location, the seller stored it for a year for me and he had the equipment to load it for me so I didn't have to hire a rigger or rent a fork lift to load it at his location. I paid $6K.
November 23, 20178 yr I said no to a running 300# Beaudry about 7 years ago for $4k. I didn't have space or work for it then, and I've been kicking myself for not going for it ever since. If you don't want that one let me know.
November 23, 20178 yr I paid $5,000 for a #7 hammer 10 or 12 years ago , another $2,000 to ship it all the way across the country and unload it , and another $5,000 to get it set up on a proper foundation, new dies, rollers, single phase motor , jack shaft and belts , magnetic switch etc. Well worth it if you have a need for a hammer that size and the ability to handle lots of heavy stuff safely. PM me if you get it and I'll send you a copy of the factory literature.
