Ali Ahmed Khan Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 So I had planned on using kaowool, but it could only go up to 2300f and I didn't want to risk losing the material. So I'm currently going to be using a 15.8 litre propane tank. Any ideas on how to get the middle hollow? Quote
WayneCoeArtistBlacksmith Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Check out the Build a Gas Forge attachment on the forge supplies page of my web-site. You can find the web-site and other contact info on my profile page here. Wayne Quote
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I wouldn't use "refractory cement" in your forge. You should be able to get the proper supplies from Wayne. As far as getting the middle hollow, take a look at this thread. Quote
Frosty Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Ali: I"m not brushing off your questions when I suggest you do some reading in the gas forge section of Iforge. Specifically the "forges 101" thread. You have a LOT of proper flame face and kiln washes available to you, especially with all the oil well drilling being done in your area. Just don't get in a hurry to build and get started. Wayne Coe's site will give you access to good forge plans and materials to build with IF international shipping is affordable. Frosty The Lucky. Binesman Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 The advice already given is sound and it would bennefit you greatly to follow it. I will add ceramic blanket is a consumable. Quote
