Help identifying this Anvil. Owner says it's a Hay Dunner from Brooklyn, NY

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard of Hay Dunner? Do you think he meant Hay Budden? Please see photo and let me know if you recognize it. I don't see any markings on it.

Thanks

Mm ... looks like a hay budden, I doubt there are any reference to dunny or banners, or I hope not :)

What size? what price? any lighter photos to see condition? Rebound? Selfies hugging the anvil?

A better photo will get you better information. Take a shot of all sides, top, and bottom of the anvil. Feet and markings included.

Unfortinaly it's not mine. I wouldn't take photos like that lol. I'm trying to get better photos of it.

But I'm considering it. If it is a Hay Budden, I'll probably get it. If it's a no-name, I think he's asking too much.

If it says Brooklyn NY on it; pretty much a given it's a HB.  You can check for the hourglass on the underside too---but it can be worn down till it's hard to see on some HBs. I have one where the hourglass is hard to see but the name stamp is clear.

Do the ring and ball bearing tests and if they past it's a good one and it doesn't matter what is or is not stamped on it---if you want an anvil to *use*!
