Burt
I am trying to determine anvil type and value so I can trade or sell for some other tools. I'm sure your sick of anvil identification but any help in identifying would be greatly appreciated. Anvil weighs 220lbs
jmccustomknives
That is a lovely anvil. Early colonial, pre -1830's I'd think. I'd love to host that one in my shop, I say host because it will outlast me.
ThomasPowers
There's a post on here from someone setting up a smithy at a museum depicting the Colonial period who needs a colonial anvil...
Frosty
Welcome aboard Burt, glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many of the Iforge gang live within visiting distance. Don't worry, we're known for our heroic generosity and gladly suffer the boredom of looking at anvil pictures, it's a small price to pay to maintain our reputations for big . . . heartedness. Seriously we LOVE looking at pics and that's a dandy. It makes a guy wish anvils could talk, that one is a beauty. Frosty The Lucky.
John in Oly, WA
Oh, if anvils could talk, they'd probably just ring on and on and on...
