My dad works at the b an o railroad museum and they just pulled this out of storage. At least 500lbs plus the stand. I couldn't find any markings on it but I didn't give it a real close inspection either. It looks to be cast and has a real thick top plate maybe 1 1/2". I didn't get to bang on it but it appeared to be in real good shape. I figured you all would like to see it. I sure enjoyed oogling it.

Take some full measurements, total length, face width, and height.

Is it for sale?

Did he say if there was a swage block too? RR shops often cast their own anvils and swage blocks sort of as a journeyman's test for the foundry shop, that's where my swage block came from.  I like the stand holds it securely but easy to lift it out, that fabricator knew his business.

How does it do under a rebound test? Take a 1/2" ball bearing with you next time nobody will notice the "tink, tink of you checking her out.

She'd make quite the shop anvil.

Frosty The Lucky.

Looks rather like a Fisher.  Is it for sale?

Whatever the make, it sure is minty fresh.
