June 9, 201610 yr Hi to all, my name is German Morelli, I´m from Cordoba, Argentina. Recently I found an anvil in a flea market for 160 Dollars, so I bought it (not common to see this anvils in my city!!), has stamped "Wilkinsons + Queens Dudley" and in the other side numbers "1 0 11". Any suggestions!? Year of production?? My plans are to use it occasionally, very light use! Many thanks!!!
June 9, 201610 yr Why only occasionally and only light work? Well first, what's your definition of light work? Littleblacksmith

June 9, 201610 yr Author Hi Littleblacksmit, becasue I only do some shop work on my garage, have a pair of old engines etc...not forge!
June 9, 201610 yr make a forge, it can be as easy as a hole in the ground and a hair dryer and some charcoal

June 13, 201610 yr Great score on that anvil would love to have it. Once you start hammering you will not stop. You could forge parts to go with your engines.
June 22, 201610 yr Author Many thanks guys!! It´s any way to know the age of my anvil, seems to be very old, maybe pre 1900?? I´m right?
July 9, 201610 yr I believe Wilkinson was in business from 1810 to 1920. Queens, as far as my research can find, was a neighborhood in Dudley, England. I have one that is a basic London pattern. There are guys o0n here that are much more informed than I am, so hopefully they can correct any error I made, or add to what I wrote.
