ThomasPowers
I grabbed a couple of pictures of my wall of shame collection. The first was a 50 pound vulcan note the casting porosity on the horn! The second Postman believes was a Peter Wright it's weight stamped 1 0 14 and so was one complete. Michael Cochran
I bet that peter wright is an awesome anvil just the way it sits. I was actually looking for a sawyers anvil when I found my little fisher.
ThomasPowers
It's dead soft wrought iron---and was used after the catastrophic failure as you can tell by the mushrooming. Not too bad for forging real wrought iron at very high temps where the workpiece is very very soft. It doesn't have a steel face like a sawyers anvil should have; but it's a neat shape... Michael Cochran
I spoke too soon, I forgot about pw construction being like that. It's still cool and might be a good practice 'anvil' for a young child.
