EricJergensen
This is actually a rowing machine with pneumatic resistance. The weld failed. I'm concerned that it wouldn't be safe for me / the cylinder to weld it. In any case, I only have a stick welder not a spot welder. Repair suggestions? KRS
make sure the contact area is clean and put a thin rubber in the clamp. however you fix it, do both sides while you are at it
Ironmike
You can't put any heat on that or it could blow up in your face! It was welded when it was a bare empty open cylinder and safe to weld Ironmike
Charles R. Stevens
Sorce the appropriat automotive shock. The valving is very similar and will be built much better. Heavy vehicles such as 1 ton vans and trucks will offer more resistance wile shocks from a Pinto will offer less.
SoCal Dave
Try some JB weld or some really strong glue for metal. They are surprisingly strong. Good luck
