jay_cat
This is one of a few items I scored Sunday. I will place it on a scale as soon as I have some help. I messed my back up lifting it alone into my car and can't get it out yet. Its heavier than my 176lbs Arm and Hammer. I'm guessing 200lbs
njanvilman
FISHER anvils with the FN were all made between 1870 and 1880. It looks like you got a nice anvil. Congrats.
ausfire
Nice anvil, and best wishes for your back recovery. I do know what that's like. A risk we take.
L Smith
yea I learned my lesson years ago ( late 60s) never put an anvil in the trunk. The car springs just follow you uphill with the weight.

I have often carried anvils in the trunk of my Toyota, but I use a chain hoist to get them out. Saves ones back.
jay_cat
The weight is in. It's 220lb anvil. Still shocked I was able to load it my self.
Frosty
Nice score, she looks like she's got a couple more generations in her easy. Sorry to hear about the back. One of my best ever scores was a brand new engine hoist at a yard sale for $50.00. I can pick my anvils with stands and set them in back of the pickup, easy peasy though sometimes I DO have to sweep the floor first. Oh well sometimes we just have to make these sacrifices.
