Cwag
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section. My buddy and I are building a forge for welding Damascus. Or at least try to lol. My question is where is a good place to buy the kaowool liner, and refractory? Anybody know a local place around San Antonio? If not a good website would be great! Thanks , Connor
Glenn
Wayne Coe a member of IForgeIron sells kaowool. Contact him PM.
ThomasPowers
Since you are in San Antonio Italy I would check with ceramics suppliers in Florence, probably a better bet than Rome.

Frosty
I apologize I meant San Antonio, Texas in the United States Welcome aboard, glad to have you. We're blacksmiths and aren't likely to remember where you are by supper time tonight so if you put your general location in the header we won't have to keep asking. You can call a company that works on industrial heating units, boilers, furnaces, etc. and ask where they buy ceramic blanket they'll probably hook you up. Frosty The Lucky. wyck
Check out Clay World (www.clayworld.com), which is in town. Last time I checked, they had at least three types of fire clay.
Frosty
I apologize I meant San Antonio, Texas in the United States That's a little better but if you expect a gang of blacksmiths to remember beyond this post . . . <grin> If you put your general location in the header we'll quit bugging you about it and who knows you may live literally on the same block as an experienced smith. That has no fooling happened recently. Frosty The Lucky.
