They look more like hunter/skinners to me. A paring blade is smaller/thinner in profile. Just my 2 cents.

My preference would be the green handle though. Both are nice knives and I'd be proud to own either.

Look like useful knives to me, I would think most people would like them.

I'm curious if boxwood elder is sometimes called "boxelder"?  I had a stump in the backyard - it attracted these little bugs called...boxelder bugs.

Yes. Box elder.  I always seem to screw up names of my wood.  I buy so many in advance and always seem to mislable or change the names.
