Loneforge
That's coming along quite nicely. Nice work Geoff. Sam will be pleased I'm sure. :)
windancer
Great work and very nice patterning. The other folks working on this knife will like where you left them. Just a single knife or are there more in this coop effort? Dave
Geoff Keyes
There are going to be 4-5 more. I claimed the end of the billet for a project of my own, but there should still be at least 3 and as many as 5 out of the rest of the billet. Geoff Keyes
Just an update on my progress. I had to re-do the HT because the blade took a kink. I normalized a couple of times and the second try came out straight. Ground at 36 grit and ready to go Stable at 1550 F Ready to grind I ground to nearly sharp and finished up with a Gator belt. The rest of the day I spent hand sanding to a clean 220 surface. It goes a lot fast from here on out, 10 or 15 minutes a side per grit to 1500. Thanks for looking, Geoff

Geoff Keyes
Not too pretty, but it does the job. So here we are, my last post for this one. After consulting with one of my fellow craftsmen on this, I etched and polished to 1500 grit. This did expose a couple of weld flaws, but I don't think they'll distract from the finished product too much. So now this is off to the next guy on the list, and he'll be continuing this thread. Thanks for looking in Geoff
Steve Sells
you are not going to try to close them up? you said you have more of the billet. Some times we have to bite the bullet and start over to get the job done right.
Robert Yates
Geoff , Man it looks Awesome , where did it fail at ? Sam
Geoff Keyes
There is a small weld line right in the tip, on the non presentation side. It's probably my fault, and if it had been my project, I'd have shortened the tip just enough to get rid of it. Otherwise it's all tight. BTW, The pattern on the presentation side is much more active than the other side, though they are both pretty cool. Geoff
Robert Yates
Ok that is good I may do a bit of adjusting when I see it or not . It will never leave the presentation case once Pops gets it any way but I 'll take a look at it . Thank you very much Geoff Sam
