Paul Crosby
I've been busy making new items on my forge. I decided to try my hand at making a dinner bell. It seems to have a good ring to it. I've tried heating and quenching the corners for getting a nice ring to it. I'm not sure if I can get it better. I used 3/8" round stock and 3/8" square stock for the holder. Thanks for looking! Paul Crosby
Thanks so much for the comment. I've only been black smithing sense this last fall. I've been doing a lot of reading and practicing when I can.
Glenn
Try some 1/2 inch and some 3/4 inch stock and you should notice a difference in tone. Keep the proportions adjusted ot the stock size.
FieryFurnace
I make mine out of 3/8-inch with 12-inch sides and 1/2-inch with 14-inch sides. Women like the smaller one as it has more chime. Men like the big 'un because it has more ring. Good job!
