Michael
Hi, I'm Michael and I've been scaring my neighbors since late 2004. I came to smithing by way of collecting and rehabbing old tools. I was going over my posts to the Oldtools list and saw a fair amount of smithing info. So I thought I'd pull the smithing relevant posts put them up here as introduction/cautionary tale. This is my first post about smithing, there's more if there's any interest, ... Jan-06-2005 a little forge work....(long) hot on the tail of Doug's post about circular shave making.. Short Version: did a little blacksmithing Longer version: It

Ted T
Michael I have to agree with the Great "Skunkriv" when he said: "If a man doesn't scare his neighbors some he just ain't tryin enough!" He sure has a way with words. Thanks for the post. Be safe! Old Rusty Ted

ThomasPowers
Well it can take a heck of a lot more to scare them when you live in the country rather than in the suburbs! I remember asking my neighbor if he minded me firing my cannon off; he said no and that Sat morning would be a good time as he was taking his Mother to the arroyo for some shotgun practice then---He's in his 50's... The one we do worry about is fire and if you are raising smoke outside be prepared for all your neighbors to drop by just to check...
