Frank Turley
Bob Nett, southern California farrier (RIP), first showed me the horsehead on one half a horseshoe. The other end was made into a hoof pick. He used to forge them and give them to his customers as a matter of good will.
Ten Hammers
Rich, your inspiration was no doubt Bob for this exercise. Thanks for the pics. Ruben Funk (RIP) used to forge a fork and a knife from drop shoes (just to show it could be done). I use drop( and new ) shoes for many things related to camp. ThomasPowers
Horse head hoof picks from horseshoes are a big seller at the SWABA demo set up at the State Fair---of course being withing sight of the horse barns may have something to do with it. People who can afford horses find a lot of our handmade stuff very reasonably priced!
