November 4, 201213 yr My buddy made this for me on the CNC he has in his garage, the L is for "Lodestone Forge" Photo attached of it stamped into a piece of O-1 Steel I've been working - I think it turned out great! Lodestone
November 5, 201213 yr Dear Lodestone, Just a suggestion: If you make a Mark II version I would suggest some design element suggesting magnetism or north seeking, a North Arrow perhaps or magnetic field lines or the pole star or some combination of such or similar elements. Everybody and their dog uses an anvil as a design element. Also, what is a "CNC?" Some sort of milling machine or cutter? Suggestively, George M.
November 5, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the input George! I'll keep that in mind as i move forward. A CNC is a computer controlled milling machine. He has one that you just load your computer model into and it mills out whatever you designed into whatever material you want. (within reason, and as long as you use the right type of bits for the material.)
November 6, 201213 yr CNC is "computer numeric control" which can be applied to virtually any machine on the planet. This use happened to be a mill.
November 6, 201213 yr I've got a friend who finishes off his "Maker's Mark" every weekend. :PBut he always picks up a new one, on Monday.
November 8, 201213 yr Makers Mark is a smooth blend too LOL!!!! I need to restock myself!!!! Nice touch mark you have there. Do you have plans for a smaller version?
November 8, 201213 yr I like the magnetism idea with the name of the forge being loadstone. Nice looking mark though
November 8, 201213 yr I've seen the line with half an arrow such as this one: http://www.wildernes...1/chpt_5/3.html Is that what is being described? I've been bouncing around several ideas for a touchmark. In our family tree a Delaware indian married into the family. Had thought about using a clan symbol for my mark but am still not sure.
