John McPherson
Alloy Artifacts lists JH Williams as a full line NY state wrench and pipe tool company from 1880 to 1978. Some of the best old time Sears Craftsman wrenches with a small JW next to the 'made in USA' were made by them. We need IFI name tags for these auctions, I'm the big bald guy in the camo polarfleece that bought the tinsmith stake anvil.

D Ravizza
I suspect that the vise was made for J H Williams by Columbian. Appears to be the same style as the Columbian 606 M2. A very high quality vise. Nice find! Dan
