Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
http://cgi.ebay.com/BLACKSMITH-TRIP-HAMMER-POWER-ANVIL-SHIPPING-POSSIBLE-/250669170367?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5d0bfebf Looks perfectly serviceable to me. Somebody should grab it! $400.00!
Bentiron1946
Looks like it has a good amount of weight in the hammer, more than my 25#LG does. At $400 it should clean up nice and give some good service to someone starting out.
winterbear
oops 1500 miles each way and I am still thinking how can I come up with $400 + gas $ wonder what you could get it shipped for? Chris
monstermetal
I would think for another $400 you could get it to Washington
postleg
I'am going to go take a look. Its only 10 miles from home. Does any one have any idea of the manufaturer. Can't say that I've seen one like this before. But it may have a new home.
Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
Buy it NOW, Think later! Heck, it says they'll store it for you till you can arrange shipping or pickup. Postleg: You could be looking at it when someone clicks the "buy now" and you'd be outta luck. Buy it, then go look at it. If it was 10 miles from me, I'd have it in my shop by now. Worst that could happen is you use what ya get to build an air hammer! Looks to me like at least a 50 pound ram.
nuge
I paid that for my drill press and it won't even smash anything.
postleg
Just bought it. Took your advice and not take a chance on loosing it. I was thinking that if it couldnt be used as is. It would be a good starting point for a tire hammer. I dont know much about turning it into a air hammer but. Now that I bought it I can look it to that. So be prepaired for questions. thanks

Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
Well, before turning it into tire hammer I'd play with it a good bit. If it seems to work OK then maybe beef it up a little, replace some of the parts with upgrades. The arm on top is crying for real bushings. The toggle arms could use a little redesign. I think it has real potential just the way it is.
chyancarrek
Congrats PL! Make sure to document what you do to get her up and running - then a little video of it in action would be nice - I'd like to see that hammer at work. Have fun!! Double Y
Heck of a buy there! That would be one to use and modify without fear of it costing you anything. Please post some photos when you have it home.
