June 27, 201015 yr After a lot of disappointments or should I say learning experiences I have completed my fist forged knife I forged this from 5160 1"round stock the handle is Redheart with a copper spacer thanks for looking

June 27, 201015 yr For a 1st knife that's unreal! What a fantastic job..there is no comparison between ur 1st knife and mine..urs is a Rolls Royce and mine was a Honda Civic! I just threw mine in my tackle box...BEAUTIFUL job..beautiful knife..what kinda wood is on the handle?... Gene
June 27, 201015 yr Author Thanks a lot you guys I'm glad you like it Gene the handle is redhart I'm lucky to live real close to rockler woodworking they have some great deal on small pieces of exotic wood Hey Red I never knew what that skull came from I was thinking coon don't know if we have big snappers like that here in Oregon, hope not it might put me off swimming a bit

Either way great job! -LouieIV Thanks Louie I do have some stock removal experience but that was some 15 years ago I still have a piece of ATS34 I have been carrying that long a crossed 4 state in countless moves to remind me that I wanted to be a knife maker when I grow up. Just to be clear this was not my fist attempt I destroyed a lot of good steel getting to this point since taking a introduction to bladesmithing class last October .
