plane_crazzy
Hi, I am new to blacksmithing and ran across this site in my endeavors to design a hood for my forge. I saw where others had posted and got a lot of feedback and help from other members. Sounded like something I would like to participate in. I have only been smithing for a little over a month so my skills are still very rudimentary, but I am anxious to improve them. I promise to attempt to keep my stupid questions to a minimum, but do ask for some patience when I find myself compelled to ask them anyway. ThomasPowers
Try to make it to some of the SOFA meetings in Troy, OH. They are a topnotch group there, we used to carpool over from Columbus to go to their meetings! While I was a member they had several gas forge building workshops where everyone participating ended up with a gas forge.
pkrankow
Welcome aboard! There is a handy search function at the top of the page that is very helpful in seeing if a question is well discussed or not. It is also said "there are no stupid questions" so if you don't find an answer on your own, or have a situation that doesn't make sense, ask. plane_crazzy
Thanks for the warm welcome. I started smithing about two weeks after SOFA's annual event. I am joining the association very soon though. Their workshops and demonstrations look very interesting.
Dragons lair
plane, There are NO stupid questions. We learn from our mistakes. Why should any one of us have to find things out the hard way. Welcome and ask away. Ken
